Role Overview

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Crusher Supervisor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to oversee the efficient operation of our primary and secondary crushing facilities. This role is critical to ensuring a consistent and optimal feed size for our downstream gold recovery processes. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.

The Crusher Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Superintendent and will play a key role in maximizing equipment availability and throughput. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage shift teams, coordinate maintenance activities, and deliver against strict production KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities define the core accountabilities of the Crusher Supervisor role.

Circuit Operation Management

The role manages the daily operation of jaw and cone crushers to ensure consistent ore fragmentation and throughput targets are met.

Safety Protocol Enforcement

This position enforces strict adherence to Permit-to-Work and Lockout-Tagout procedures to protect personnel and equipment integrity.

Maintenance Coordination

The supervisor collaborates with the maintenance team to schedule liner changes and repairs during planned shutdown windows.

Team Supervision and Training

This role provides direct supervision to operators and conducts regular competency assessments to ensure technical proficiency.

Production Reporting

The incumbent generates accurate shift reports detailing tonnage processed, downtime events, and safety observations for management review.

Quality Control Monitoring

This position monitors product size distribution and adjusts crusher settings to meet the specifications required by the milling circuit.

Environmental Compliance

The supervisor ensures that dust suppression systems operate effectively to meet environmental permits and regulatory standards.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

This role identifies opportunities to optimize energy consumption and reduce wear part costs through data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Candidates must possess at least five years of experience in hard rock mining with two years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven technical knowledge of primary gyratory and secondary cone crushing equipment is essential.
  • A strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations in the mining industry is mandatory.
  • Experience in leading multicultural teams and managing contractor performance is required.
  • Proficiency in English for technical documentation and reporting is necessary for this role.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to work rotational shifts in an industrial setting are required.
  • Knowledge of Saudi mining regulations and local content requirements is highly desirable.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Experience with automated crushing circuits and SCADA control systems.
  • Familiarity with gold processing workflows including milling and leaching stages.
  • Certification in Root Cause Analysis or similar problem-solving frameworks.
  • Previous experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's mining sector.

Success Metrics

  • Crushing circuit availability exceeds ninety-five percent on a monthly average.
  • Zero recordable safety incidents occur within the crushing department during the evaluation period.
  • Liner life extension achieves a fifteen percent improvement over baseline historical data.
  • Product size distribution remains within specified limits for ninety-eight percent of operating hours.
  • All shift personnel complete mandatory technical competency assessments within the first six months.
  • Specific energy consumption per ton of crushed ore decreases by five percent year-over-year.
  • Accurate and timely submission of daily production and safety reports is maintained consistently.
