Role Overview

Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Training Center Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to lead the development and execution of technical training programs for our exploration, mining, and refining operations. This role ensures that our workforce maintains the highest levels of competency in safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Training Center Manager will build strategic partnerships with local vocational institutions to support our Vision 2030 localization objectives.

The Training Center Manager will report directly to the VP of HR and will play a key role in shaping the technical capability of our workforce. This position is critical to maintaining our LBMA and ISO certifications through rigorous training standards and documentation.


Key Responsibilities

The Training Center Manager will be responsible for the following key areas:

- Technical Curriculum Design

The role develops and updates training modules for fire assay, refining processes, and exploration techniques to ensure operational consistency.

- HSE Compliance Training

This position oversees all health, safety, and environmental training to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and local regulatory requirements.

- Saudization Pipeline Development

The manager partners with TVTC and local universities to create vocational pathways for Saudi nationals in technical roles.

- Training Budget Management

The role manages the annual training budget by evaluating vendor proposals and optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.

- Competency Assessment

This position implements competency matrices and practical assessments to verify operator proficiency in critical tasks.

- LMS Administration

The manager maintains the Learning Management System to track certifications, expiry dates, and completion rates for all employees.

- Audit Support

The role prepares and presents training documentation for internal and external audits related to LBMA and ISO standards.

- Onboarding Program Oversight

This position ensures all new hires complete mandatory site inductions and role-specific training before commencing work.

- Performance Gap Analysis

The manager analyzes operational incidents and performance data to identify and address training needs proactively.

- Vendor Coordination

The role negotiates contracts and coordinates schedules with external training providers to supplement internal capabilities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in training and development within the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record in designing technical training programs for operational and laboratory staff.
  • Deep understanding of Saudi labor laws and TVTC partnership frameworks.
  • Experience managing training budgets and negotiating with external vendors.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong ability to translate technical operational procedures into structured learning modules.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic for effective communication with a diverse workforce.


Preferred / Nice-to-have

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development or Business Administration.
  • Prior experience in a gold refinery or precious metals processing facility.
  • Certification in instructional design or adult learning methodologies.
  • Experience supporting LBMA or ISO certification audits.
  • Knowledge of HSE training standards including HAZOP and emergency response.


Success Metrics

  • 100% compliance in mandatory HSE and technical certifications for all plant and lab staff.
  • Launch of two active partnership programs with TVTC for Saudi national recruitment.
  • 20% reduction in time-to-competency for new refinery operators.
  • Zero non-conformities in training records during external ISO or LBMA audits.
  • Delivery of the annual training plan within 5% of the approved budget.
  • Establishment of a fully functional Training Center with approved curricula for all critical roles.
  • Positive feedback scores from participants in technical training programs.
